Why Gardening Leave

One provider, one agreement
A single whole-of-exterior provider on one agreement effectively doesn't exist here. The product is never thinking about the outside of your house.

Corporate discipline on the tools
Twenty years in insurance claims, risk and operations: photo records every visit, a finish checklist, a written condition report no franchise offers.

Quiet, battery-powered kit
Professional Stihl battery equipment. No fumes, neighbourhood-friendly in premium streets.

Accountable, not cheapest
Fully insured with $20m public liability, GST registered.
Services
Every job is quoted in writing before work starts - a fixed quote for one-offs, a fixed monthly price for retainers, set for your property after a 15-minute walk-through. No call-out fees, no re-quoting each season.
One-off work
Between retainer visits I take a limited number of one-off jobs - tidy-ups, pre-sale presentation, gutter clears, pressure washing. Retainer clients hold the calendar; one-offs fill the gaps.
The fine print, up front
$20m public liability insurance · GST registered · Xero tax invoices · photo record of every visit · minor repairs handled directly, licensed trades (electrical, plumbing, structural) always referred.
The retainers
About
"Gardening leave" is what they call it when you leave a corporate job and get paid to stay home. I left twenty years in insurance - claims, operations, risk and senior management - and chose to spend mine on the tools instead.
That background is the point. The habits that ran claims teams now run your property: photo records of every visit, a finish checklist before I leave, a written condition report no mowing franchise offers, and a schedule that holds because the calendar is built around fixed retainer slots - not squeezed jobs.
Am I still going to be here next year? Fair question - people ask. The retainer model is the answer: fixed slots, a small client list, and a business built deliberately around reliability rather than volume. I'm not going anywhere.

A deliberately small service area and a limited number of fortnightly slots, so every visit lands on schedule. Retainer clients hold fixed slots and own the calendar; one-off jobs fill the gaps.
